Pedagogy Principles
We know that 'how' we teach is as important, if not more so, than 'what' we teach. The teaching strategies that we use need to bring the curriculum off of the page - this is what makes the real difference. However, the 'how' is not a checklist of things to be seen in every lesson and there is no set formula for teaching. The strategies used by teachers need to reflect them, their children and the subject that they are teaching.
At Coppice, we understand the benefits, and limitations, of research evidence. We know that there are no silver bullets for pedagogical approaches, but understand that there are some practices that are likely to be effective if delivered consistently and effectively.
