Working for Coppice Primary Partnership for the past year has been incredibly fruitful. Working in a MAT was something I hadn't wanted to do as a single academy leader as I valued my autonomy and the perceived protection it offered for my team and our vision. However, after taking the leap, the move to Coppice has provided me with a wealth of support, healthy challenge, and a shared unwavering commitment to putting children first. This absolutely permeates every aspect of our collective mission and echoed my belief in creating excellent conditions for our pupils and staff to flourish.

Having worked with Coppice for over a year now, it's evident that teamwork isn't just a buzz word on a glossy page; it's the cornerstone of our success. We approach every challenge with a unified front, fostering a culture of collaboration and solution-focused thinking. As a headteacher, I have been granted incredible agency and autonomy to lead my school in a manner that aligns with my vision and values. However, what truly sets Coppice apart, is the sense of belonging to a larger family, where every member shares in the accountability and celebrates each other's successes.

Having previously run a very successful single academy trust for nine years and enjoyed incredible autonomy, I can attest to the transformative power of leading in a multi-academy trust model. The shift from individual autonomy to shared accountability has not only enriched my leadership journey but has also challenged me to be an even better version of myself as a leader. The benefits of belonging to a multi-academy trust is like having a support system which enhances each of our strengths, shares our burdens, and fosters a collective spirit of excellence.
